This beautiful Malibu home was purchased, renovated, and furnished as only Richard Shapiro could do it.  An expert in classical design details, both American and Continental, Shapiro's new home is now more like a lovely Italian palace, rather than a typical Malibu beach home.  Even with this view, the inside of the home commands your attention.

The interiors prove that if design is good, it is applicable anywhere.  The home is relaxed enough for the Pacific coastline, and elegant enough to be entertaining, both formally and informally.

Spectacular windows look out to the gardens from the informal sitting room.  In the guest room, the walls have a stone finish on them, that makes the home appear aged and loved.

 

Spectacular views from any window, inviting you outside.  It's a difficult dilemma, do I enjoy most the gardens and the sea, or do I stay inside and take in every little detail?
